The challenge
After years of building Shopify themes for clients, I kept hitting the same wall: technical SEO on Shopify is harder than it should be. Merchants either pay for over-engineered SEO suites loaded with features they don’t need, or they install bloated free apps that slow their store down. There’s no clean middle ground.
So I built one.
What I built
- Schematic, a Shopify app that gives merchants direct control over JSON-LD schemas, meta titles, and meta descriptions, with a live Google SERP preview
- Built as a Theme App Extension — schemas inject server-side via the Shopify theme, with zero client-side JavaScript impact
- Auto-generated schemas for products, collections, articles, and organization data, with built-in validation
- Bulk CSV import for editing schemas and meta tags across hundreds of pages at once, with deduplication logic
- Full audit log of every change, exportable for SEO audits
- Shopify GDPR-compliant with all required webhooks
- Built the marketing site (verlezzalabs.com) and the in-app UI from scratch
