The challenge
La Nabe is a concept store in Logroño, Spain — the kind of place that curates objects across categories that don’t fit conventional e-commerce structures. Customers shop differently here: sometimes they’re looking for a specific product type (jewelry, home decor, stockings), but more often they’re shopping by occasion (“a gift for my mom,” “something for my partner,” “for kids”).
The store needed a Shopify build that respected both ways of browsing — without forcing customers into a single navigation path. It also needed to integrate event and workshop bookings alongside the product catalog, since the physical store hosts in-person events.
What I built
- Custom Shopify theme with dual-axis category navigation: customers can browse by product type (Casa, Accesorios, Bisutería, Ropa, Arte) AND by recipient (Regalos para él, para tu madre, para tu pareja, para niños, para mascotas)
- Editorial visual language with editorial-style typography and generous whitespace, distinct from generic Shopify theme aesthetics
- Featured curation section (“Los que más molan”) highlighting hand-picked products
- Event and workshop bookings integrated as a Shopify collection, letting customers book in-store events through the same checkout flow as products
- Pop-up email signup with discount logic for new customers
- Performance-optimized image handling for a heavily visual catalog
